While most lubes decrease the chances of getting pregnant, there are some fertility lubes out there that can increase your chances of getting pregnant and even mimic EWCM. To further increase your chances of conceiving, you need to pinpoint your ovulation. There are many ways to do this, such as using manual
OPKs (
Wondfo is cheap and consistently gets good reviews and there's also
Clear Blue Digital Ovulation Tests), digital OPKs, such as the
Clear Blue Fertility Monitor (It's expensive, but many women swear by it),
charting, or ferning (
saliva ovulation tests).
Astroglide
Astroglide
doesn't advertise their product as being fertility-friendly, however,
it is water-based and that in itself makes it more fertility-friendly
than silicone-based lubes.
It comes in a traditional
lube bottle and does not come with applicators, like those lubes which
specifically target people trying to conceive. I think it would be good
for those who are NTNP (not trying, not preventing), but if you are more
hardcore about it, I would use a lube that is marketed for those who
are specifically trying to conceive.
Astroglide
produces both water-based and silicone-based lube, so if you're trying
to conceive make sure you get the water-based one (regular Astroglide)
and not the silicone one (
Astroglide X).
Conceive Plus
Conceive Plus comes in two forms:
pre-filled applicators (to be inserted intra-vaginally) and a
tube (to be used when more lube is required). While most lubes act as a barrier against sperm,
Conceive Plus helps with fertilization and gives sperm the nutrients they need as they wait for the egg. With calcium, magnesium, and a pH balance of 7.5,
Conceive Plus will allow sperm to survive and assist with motility and viability.
Conceive Plus has been FDA approved so you know you're getting a quality product.
You need to use
Conceive Plus up to 15 minutes before intercourse to allow for the lube to warm to your body temperature. As with other fertility-friendly lubes, you want to get it as close to your cervix as possible.
Pre-Seed
Many lubes often make conception more difficult, but
Pre-Seed
is a sperm-friendly lubricant. Many people swear by it and say it helps
get them pregnant right away. It helps mimic EWCM and support the sperm
as it waits for the egg. It's been clinically proven to be fertility
friendly.
You can use
Pre-Seed
in the privacy of your own home. You need to use the applicators to
insert the lube, but many people clean them, air dry them, and they
reuse them. Of course, there are also people who use
Pre-Seed without the applicators. You do need to get the lube as close to your cervix as possible.
Be
careful about using the recommended amount. Most people find that it's
way too much and only use 1 gram, instead of the recommended 3-4 grams.
By using 1 gram you'll be able to get about 40 applications out of the
tube. You need to insert it about 10-15 minutes before having
intercourse.
If you look on forums about trying to conceive, you will find that many people swear by
Pre-Seed.
It gets amazing reviews and many people get pregnant after the first
month. So if you're looking to conceive, it's definitely worth a shot.
Sliquid
Sliquid has a few different lubes available, such as
Organics,
H2O Original,
Oceanics, and
Sassy. There are slight differences between them, so check the ingredients, but all four of these are water-based. They also have
Silver, which is a silcone-based lube, something you want to avoid if you're trying to conceive.
Like
Astroglide,
Sliquid doesn't market themselves towards the trying to conceive market and they don't provide applicators with the lube. As such, I think this lube would be best for those who are NTNP (not trying, not preventing).

Yes Baby
Yes Baby is different than all the other fertility-friendly lubes out there because it uses a two pack system requiring that you know when you ovulate.
Yes Baby is packaged nicely. It comes in a box made up of two pyramids. Inside one is the sperm-friendly lube (you use this the day before you get a peak OPK, the day of, and the day after) and in the other is the vagina-friendly lube (you use this from two days after you get a peak OPK). It sounds confusing, but they have very helpful directions with a sample chart to help you out. Both lubes are inside a tulle-type gift bag, which I found to be a nice
touch. When you're trying to conceive, things can quickly snowball into
becoming medical and the fact that this lube is packaged like a gift
makes a difference.
Yes Baby is organic and paraben-free, which is great for those who are looking for a natural product. It's not as well-known as
Pre-Seed, but consistently gets good reviews for those trying to get pregnant.
