Acidophilus
Acidophilus is one of the main ingredients in Fertile CM and that supplement is specifically made to help increase the quality and quantity of EWCM. Acidophilus can help balance the acidity of your your ph levels, make it more sperm friendly, and make your CM more slippery instead of tacky.
Some people decide just to buy acidophilus because it is cheap and only one thing, rather than Fertile CM, which is a mix of different things. Here are some discussion about using acidophilus to help with EWCM. Do a search for acidophilus on the pages below.

Conceive Easy
Conceive Easy is a supplement designed to help women get pregnant. It's said to help with stimulating ovulation, unexplained infertility, regulating cycles, lengthening the luteal phase, and increasing fertile CM.

Dandelion Leaf and Root
Dandelion leaf and root are said to help with EWCM. Some women report an increase in EWCM after taking dandelion. It's supposed to stimulate mucus as well as help with hormone balance. Natural Fertility Info recommends it as one thing to try in order to get EWCM. You can find it in pill, powder, tincture, and tea form.
Evening Primrose Oil
Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) is high in Omega 6 and has been said to help many women with EWCM. If you do a search for EPO and EWCM you will come up with lots of people singing its praise. Keep in mind that everyone will have different results and what works for someone may not work for you. Here are a few posts about it.

FertilAid
FertilAid is a prenatal vitamin and also has fertility supplements added to it. Some of the ingredients include Chasteberry (Vitex agnus-castus, Red Clover Blossom, Siberian Ginseng, and Ginkgo Biloba. These ingredients help with hormonal balance, enhance fertility, and support your overall reproductive health.
FertilAid is similar to Fertile CM. It is specifically designed to increase a woman's fertility. FertilAid might not be for everyone. Be sure to read the reviews and see if you think it might work for you.
Fertile CM
Fertile CM is designed especially to help with EWCM. This supplement gets mixed reviews. Some women swear up and down that it works, while others say it does the opposite of what it's supposed to do and cause them to ovulate later than normal. Like all supplements for EWCM, you should probably only take it from menstruation to ovulation to be on the safe side.
This product has many reviews on Amazon, so read through them and see what you think. I always start with the negative reviews before I buy any product.
Fish Oil see "Omega 3"
Ginger Root
I haven't found much about ginger root, other than this post about Cervical Mucus: Essential for Natural Fertility. They say that ginger root has many benefits, such as being an aphrodisiac, promoting circulation, and promoting healthy mucus membrane secretion.
Even though there isn't a lot out there about ginger root, it's something easy to try if you're looking to increase EWCM. Ginger root comes in a few forms: tea, powder, and pills. Of course, you can always buy fresh ginger and use that as well.
Ginkgo Biloba
I haven't heard much about ginkgo biloba helping with EWCM other than this post about Cervical Mucus: Essential for Natural Fertility. They say that ginkgo biloba promotes circulation and healthy mucus membrane secretion. Ginkgo biloba has been used in traditional Chinese medical for a long time and is said to help your mind, body and mood. People say it icreases libido, concentration, helps with energy, and decrease inflammation, among others.
Even though there isn't a lot out there about ginkgo biloba, it's something easy to try if you're looking to increase EWCM.
Grape Seed Extract
I haven't seen grape seed extract come up very much when talking about how to increase EWCM, but I know that it works for some women. Here's an article about it. They advise taking grape seed extract along with vitamin C to increase the quality and quantity of EWCM.
As with all supplements that are designed to help with EWCM, you probably want to take it only from menstruation to ovulation.
Green Tea
You can either drink green tea or take supplements. For women who don't like drinking water, green tea can be a great alternative and it will help with EWCM. As with other supplements you want to only take it from menstruation to ovulation.
Whether you buy loose leaf tea or take a supplement, check the ingredients. You just want it to have green tea in it. You also want it to be non-caffeinated.
Honey and Cinnamon
Some women say that one teaspoon of honey and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon a day is all that is needed to help with EWCM. You can just eat it, or put it on oatmeal (which is also said to help with EWCM), spread it on toast, put it in tea, or in water (also said to help with EWCM). Look into getting good quality honey. Make sure the honey is not hot, since heat can destroy the good qualities of honey. Warm it ok, but hot is not.
Both honey and cinnamon are said to have health benefits such as lowering blood sugar, fighting infection, and even preventing cancer. Not all honey and cinnamon are created equally, so do your research and make sure to buy quality over quantity. Here are some posts about honey and cinnamon.
You need to be careful with cinnamon. Too much can induce a miscarriage. The dosage for pills is 1-4 gr a day. For the oils, .05-.2 gr a day. In addition to the powdered cinnamon, you can also buy cinnamon in essential oil, stick, and pill form. There are different types of cinnamon. Some people believe that Ceylon cinnamon is the one true form of cinnamon that has healing properties. Other people disagree. Here are some posts about it.

Iodine
Some doctors believe that many people are iodine deficient. Having enough iodine in your body is key to thyroid function which is responsible for our hormones. It's very easy to perform an iodine patch test at home to see if you are iodine deficient.
Since iodine has such a strong effect on our hormones, making sure you have enough can help your body produce enough EWCM. Here's a good article on why iodine is so important for our fertility.
There are many ways to make sure you're getting enough iodine. Try adding some of these to your diet. Here's a good guide to what percentage of iodine you'd be getting if you added these items to your diet.
- Iodized salt
- Himalayan salt
- Sea salt
- Kelp
- Seaweed
- Salt water fish
- Eggs
- Navy beans
- Turkey breast
- Potatoes
- Cranberries
- Dairy (though some people believe that this can have a negative effect on EWCM)
- Liquid iodine
- Iodine in pill form
L-Arginine
It is believed that L-Arginine, an amino acid, can help with EWCM. It works by producing Nitric Acid (NO) which in turn increases the blood flow which helps increase EWCM. In fact, Nobel Prize reserach has proven this to be true.
There are a lot of L-Arginine supplements out there so be sure to read the ingredients. Getting it in its purest form is usually best.
Licorice Root
Natural Fertility Info and Thyme and Timber recommend it as one thing to try in order to get EWCM. Soulcysters has some personal stories about licorice root and infertility.
If you're having problems with ovulation, a good natural substitute for Clomid or Femara is licorice root. Start with 1350mg a day. You'd take it the same way you would take Clomid or Femara, from cycle days 3-7 or 5-9. You can also find licorice root teas. My infertility story has three posts about licorice root and ovulation. Here are part 1, part 2, and part 3.
Maca Root
Maca root is a Peruvian herb that is hailed for its medicinal properties. Once a staple in the Incan diet, it is still commonly used in Peru today. Maca powder looks like flour, but it is categorised as an herb, rather than a grain. It's said to enhance libido, hormonal balance, energy, and mental clarity.
There have not been many scientific studies done about these claims. However, it might be similar to Mayan massage; something that has been passed down generation-to-generation because it works. Other people think that there's a placebo effect that leads to results. Either way, both maca and Mayan massage might be something you want to try.
Here are a few posts about how maca can help with EWCM.
Maca comes in a few forms. It's hard to find whole maca, but you can easily find maca pills or maca powder. There's also red maca (for women)and black maca (for men). Women commonly start with 500mg twice a day or a tablespoon of the powder. Some women take it the whole month while others don't take it between when implantation may happen until they get their period. Here's a very comprehensive guide to using maca for fertility.
Marshmallow Root
Marshmallow Root is said to help to help increase mucus and therefore can help with EWCM. Natural Fertility Info, Thyme and Timber, and Stork Mama also recommends it as one thing to try in order to get EWCM. You can find it in pill, powder, tincture, tea form.
Olive oil see "Omega 9"
Omega 3
Some women swear by taking fish oil (Omega 3, not cod liver oil) to help with EWCM. It can change tacky CM to EWCM. I've seen between 1,000-3,000 mg being recommended per day. You can always start with a lower dosage and work your way up.
Some women don't want to take fish oil because they don't like fish or are afraid of burping. Shop around and see which capsules are best for you. I always advise people to read the reviews and start with the negative ones to find out which ones would work for you.
You should not rely on supplements completely. Try to get enough Omega 3 through foods and supplement as needed.
Omega 6
Omega 6 is a fatty acid that helps regulate your hormones, increase the blood flow to your reproductive organs, increasing EWCM, and balance your cycle. Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) is also said to be a good source of Omega 6. Here are some discussions about it.
- Let's talk about supplements to boost fertility
- Anyone taking Starflower Oil to help with EWCM?
- Evening Primrose Oil
- Omega 3-6-9
It's best to get vitamins through your diet. You should not rely on supplements completely. Try to get enough Omega 6 through foods and supplement as needed.
Omega 9
Omega 9 is part of the 3 common Omega supplements (3-6-9). Omega 9 can be found in cooking oils, such as olive oil and canola oil. It can change tacky CM to EWCM. I've seen between 1,000-3,000 mg being recommended per day. You can always start with a lower dosage and work your way up.
The Omegas are fatty acids that helps regulate your hormones, increase the blood flow to your reproductive organs, increasing EWCM, and balance your cycle. They're found naturally in fish and oils. Here are some discussions about it.

Red Clover Blossom
Red Clover Blossom is said to help increase estrogen level and circulation to your reproductive organs and therefore increase EWCM. Here's what some people have said about Red Clover Blossom.
Natural Fertility Info, Thyme and Timber, and Stork Mama also recommends it as one thing to try in order to get EWCM. Red Clover Blossom comes in pill, powder, extract, and tea form.
Red Raspberry Leaf
Red Raspberry Leaf is said to have many benefits for women, such as relaxing and toning the uterus, helping with luteal phase balance, supplying your body with vitamins and minerals, and preparing your body for labor. It provides many benefits for your reproductive system. Many women have said that it also helps with EWCM. Here are a few posts about RRL.

Shatavari
Shatavari is an Indian herb said to help with hormone balance and your reproductive system. Since it helps with balance, some women have found it to help increase their EWCM. Natural Fertility Info recommends it as one thing to try in order to get EWCM. They state that shatavari contains mucilage and is therefore able to help your body produce EWCM. You can find it in pill, powder, and tincture form.
Soy Isoflavones
Soy Isoflavones are said to help increase the amount of EWCM. Here are some forums posts about it.
Another advantage to taking soy isoflavones is that they are work similarly to clomid or femara and help with ovulation. Although they're said to be half the strength of clomid, they're a natural method and they don't require a prescription. Here's some information about the dosage. People say to start with 80mg or 120mg.
Starflower oil see "Omega 6"
Vitamin A
If you don't have enough Vitamin A in your body this can lead to CM issues. This is one reason why some people recommend that you eat more carrots. Your body uses beta carotene and converts it to Vitamin A as needed. Other good sources of beta carotene are oatmeal, cantaloupes, sweet potatoes, kale, and spinach. Here are some posts about Vitamin A and EWCM.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C can fight against infection. Remember how your mom always told you to take Vitamin C when you were sick? It also increases the amount of water in your CM which in turn leads to better quality CM and can protect sperm from cell damage. Some people also believe it can lower the miscarriage rate. You just need to be careful not to take more than 2,000 mg per day.
There are different ways to take Vitamin C: powders, pills, chewable tablets, and even gummy vitamins. Shop around and see what works for you. It's best to get vitamins through your diet. You should not rely on supplements completely. Try to get enough Vitamin C through foods and supplement as needed.
Vitamin D
Some doctors believe that many of us are Vitamin D deficient, especially people who don't get enough sun every day. In fact, estimates are that 50% of adults are Vitamin D deficient. Here's an interesting article: 7 signs you may have a Vitamin D deficiency.
Vitamin D is said to help increase EWCM. Some women have called Vitamin D a miracle worker. Other women have said that by just taking a Vitamin D capsule they have been able to increase how much EWCM they have.
Getting some sun can help raise your Vitamin D level. While some people believe that eating Vitamin D fortified foods can help, the reality is that there is not enough Vitamin D in them to make that much of a difference. Vitamin D is actually a steroid hormone and our bodies are designed to get it from the sun, not from food. The good news is that taking a Vitamin D supplement can provide you with all the Vitamin D you need for the day.
Vitamin E
Some women have reported that taking Vitamin E has helped them get more EWCM. Here are some posts about Vitamin E and EWCM.

Vitex
Vitex is said to help balance a women's overall health and cycle. It's not for everyone though. Read the negative reviews first to see if you think it can help you. If you read the positive reviews, women have said it's helped with a variety of issues such as irregular periods, luteal phase defects, acne, PCOS, cramps, EWCM, and more.
A couple things to remember is that it may take time to see effects and also if you do get pregnant, it's been said that you should wean yourself off Vitex rather than quitting cold turkey.
